HUAYNA POTOSI

(6088 mts./19,974 ft.) – Climbing Difficulty Level: MEDIUM

DAY 1

Departure from La Paz city by bus to Zongo platform (4.700 mts./15,420 ft.) Aproximately 2 hours trip. Afterwards we start the ascent after crossing the Zongo dam. Climbing by the stable moraines until reaching the glacier (5.200 mts./17,060 ft.) high camp, supper and camping night.

DAY 2

Very early in the morning after a hot beverage we continue either to the so called High camp (5.200 mts./17,060 ft.) or Argentinian camp (5.500 mts./18,045 ft.) Climbing to the summit requires about 6 hrs. and another 4 hrs. to descend to the base camp (Zongo platform). Return to La Paz by bus, arrival to hotel and end of services.
