We will pick you up at your hotel at 8:30 am and drive for about 3 hours out of the city, crossing the Andean highlands until we reach Rinconada (4500 meters) where we will start the hike.

After 1 – 1 ½ hours of gentle uphill hiking passing by several small lakes, we reach the largest lake, Chiar Khota (4700 meters). We will camp by the lakeshore and enjoy a walk to take in the views of the Condoriri massif. We will spend the night in tents at Chiar Khota.

After an early breakfast, we will pack up the camp and begin the steeper ascent to Pico Austria (5350 meters) for about 3 hours until we reach the summit.

From the top of Pico Austria, we have a spectacular view of Mount Condoriri, shaped like a condor with its wings spread, Lake Titicaca, the western face of Huayna Potosí, and many other peaks of the Royal Range. Our descent to Rinconada will take about 2 hours, plus a stop at the lake to pick up our camping gear. We will return to La Paz early in the afternoon.
