On the first day, the tour starts with a motor boat to cross the Beni River to reach the lodge, the boat has a maximum capacity of 10 seats. The trip is the best way to see the Bala Canyon around the Beni River. The Madidi National Park has access to the Tuichi River. Along the way you will see different animals and feel the magical world of the Bolivian Amazon. The trip takes about 5 and a half hours.
We have lunch half way and arrive at the lodge, 25 minutes walking along a wide part of the jungle. It is time to settle down in the lodge or in the room, we have lunch at the lodge, after lunch we relax in a hammock or swim in the Chalalan Lake.
A short walk along to learn about medicinal plants and more about the traditions of the people. We return to the lodge and choose to do one of the following activities: handicrafts, canoe trip, watch videos about the community and Madidi National Park.
We have dinner at the lodge in the dining room, take a short night walk along the Paraba or Silbador trails to see amphibians, reptiles, insects, tarantulas, rodents, birds and nocturnal monkeys. This is the best opportunity to hear the sounds of the jungle.
The second day we will have a buffet breakfast in the lodge dining room. You can talk to the tour guide to change some schedules depending on the things you want to do (breakfast at 05:30 A.M. to be able to observe the birds).
We spend the morning walking along the Tapacaré trail or similar where you can see and learn about the rainforest and the wild world around you.
You will have optional lessons: natural interpretation of the rainforest, natural history, ecological processes, medicinal plants and hard trunk trees, bird behavior. We return to the lodge and have a snack, then lunch in the dining room. After lunch we rest in a hammock or swim in the lake.
A short hike along the Paraba trail to a viewpoint where you can see the beautiful landscape, the mountains and the Madidi jungle. The guide will explain the use of plants for constructions and the traditional and sustainable use of natural resources. At this point is when the guide will tell you about the park and the community. We will return to the lake to go on a canoe trip along the shores of the Chalalán River where you can enjoy the sunset and see the monkeys, birds, insects, bats, etc.
We will return to the lodge for a traditional snack “dunucuabi” fish wrapped in leaves or “tacuara” fish in bambo from the Bolivian Amazon. *This dinner will depend on the availability of fish or can be offered another night during your stay.
A short evening activity of 1 to 2 hours, a night canoe trip to see amphibians, nocturnal birds, fish eating, bats and caimans found by their glowing eyes.
On the third day we will have a buffet breakfast in the dining room and then take a short walk to see wildlife. Lunch at 11:00 am. Last walk to the Tuichi River to take the boat back to Rurrenabaque, the return walk along the Jaguar or Wichi, trail can be modified to your interests. Please coordinate with the guide.
We return by boat to Rurrenabaque for 3 hours, the time will be subject to the availability of the boats and the wind. We recommend you to be alert during the boat trip so that you can see the animals for the last time. Arrival in Rurrenabaque.
